Melancholia and the Great Awakening
In Lars von Trier's 2011 movie "Melancholia", Justine is struggling to be happy, on the night of her wedding. Paid for by her wealthy sister, Claire, and brother-in-law, John, Justine is plagued with depression, not because of a blue planet named Melancholia hurtling towards the Earth set to totally destroy the planet, but because no one will face the reality of their inevitable death.
It is an eerie and formidable feeling when the people you interact with have a drastically opposite perception of the world. Especially for one who believes there is a real threat coming for your life.
Terror the of Woods empathizes with the protagonist, Justine. Just as the guests at her wedding refused to acknowledge Melancholia, many individuals today are neglecting to acknowledge the evil strings that control the system, and our voices gradually quietening into total silence.
Claire accuses Justine of "lying to everyone", about the significance of Melancholia, while John aggressively reminds Justine how much the wedding cost and tells her she "better be fucking happy".
Over the last year, Terror of the Woods has been trying to expose the forboding socialism being injected into our lives. We are being told to stay at home, get your vaccine and shut up because we are sending you a stimulus check.
But, we are not in a movie, right?
