The Righteous "They"

We often hear phrases like "They", say this, or "They", frown upon that. But who are "They"?

"They" is frequently cited as an authority and "They" know best. However, one thing is for sure, "They" certainly do not possess an internalized set of values and objectives that align with Terror of the Woods' ethical and moral compass.

"They", do not share "We the People's" point of view on social or political issues as cataloged and documented on social media. However, "They" do order praise or acknowledgment of their righteousness from others who share that point of view and rebuke or cancel those who do not.

Terror of the Woods presents to you, "They" as the "Deep State" (DS). The DS refers to lifelong bureaucrats or government officials who survive one administration to the next and manipulate the strings that control the system behind the curtain. Today, "They" are not just government officials but also our mainstream media (MSM) "correspondents" that manufacture our sources of information with a consistent tone and programming. The only difference is the MSM sells it to us and the government official forces it on us.

Some claim there is no DS and government officials can be trusted to follow the policy set by elected leaders (also the DS) no matter if one administration varies tremendously from the next.

In 2017, the Trump Administration cut off funding to the United Nations (UN) Population Fund because of the UN's involvement with China’s forced abortion program (BBC Article). This was a dramatic pivot in public health policy. Whether or not you are pro-choice or pro-life, gun control advocate, or gun enthusiast, these issues resonate with any individual on a moral and ethical level. People on both sides can't help but feel extreme conviction when it comes to abortion or guns in their personal life so how can they be trusted to possibly make a switch to fund or not fund a program, in their professional?

The answer here is "They" can't, or it is a very difficult decision to compromise their perceived ethic or moral values and instead skirt the edges of the new administrative policy change.

Basically, the DS is a massive bureaucracy encompassing the MSM that runs a lot of the day-to-day operations with an unrivaled amount of power. There are hundreds of thousands of people working at places like the Department of Defense, National Security Agency, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) (not to mention the private contractors who do a lot of the work for these departments and agencies) who don't simply get swapped out with a new presidential administration. But the most disturbing thing that happens is when the MSM and the government officials are so in sync that there are no checks and balances and "They" protect and cover up for each other. Power is driven by temptation. Government officials sometimes abuse their power to meddle in politics and sometimes they lie about it and leak it to the MSM for a "wrap-up smear."

Nancy Pelosi exposed this tactic on camera in 2017 at a press conference when she said:

"You smear somebody with falsehoods and the rest and then you merchandise it and then you [the MSM] write it unless "[T]hey" see it's reported in the press that this this this and this so they have that validation."

We can easily refer to "Operation Mockingbird" which was a CIA project that recruited journalists to write fake stories promoting government ideas while dispelling communist ones. Consider in 1964 the CIA used a fake news agency and spies in the campaign of Republican candidate Barry Goldwater to collect advanced copies of speeches and other materials. Those materials were then delivered to a CIA agent at the White House, John Roche, speechwriter for President Johnson, who confirmed that somehow or other they would get advanced texts of Goldwater's key speeches.

On February 14, 1967, the New York Times front-page headline read: “A Student Group Concedes It Took Funds from C.I.A.” The article by the reporter Neil Sheehan unleashed a series of revelations about the secret operations of the CIA.

Since the 1950s the agency had apparently been financing independent, private organizations and institutions that seemed to bear little relevance to the official tasks of the CIA, namely to collect information abroad that was relevant to America's national security.

The day before, the underground magazine Ramparts bought a full-page ad in the New York Times to publicize its March issue. The ad announced that Ramparts would reveal how the CIA had for many years sponsored the National Student Association, of whom are the actual MSM correspondents, columnists, and editors we see today.

Months after leaving The Washington Post, where he uncovered the Watergate scandal with partner Bob Woodward, Carl Bernstein spent six months examining the relationship between the CIA and the media during the Cold War.

The groundbreaking piece exposed the fact that more than 400 American journalists, including reporters for The New York Times, Associated Press, and Reuters, doubled as CIA operatives. "Journalists provided a full range of clandestine services — from simple intelligence-gathering to serving as go-betweens with spies in Communist countries," Bernstein wrote.

We the People must have confidence in our institutions.

This is not about Republican vs. Democrat, Liberal vs. Conservative, or Progressive vs. Constitutionalist. It is "They" vs. "We the People".
